Update-Photos: Pottery Barn Dinner

This was our first ever Cocktail Pairing Feast and I was more than pleased with the outcome.

I started planning this event with potter Melissa Monroe, who has a beautiful studio in a red barn. Back in June we wondered what veggies would be ready in the garden for the July 31 dinner date. Melissa designed ceramic vessels, using bottles and shot cups for a more interactive dining experience.

Melissa maintains a decent size vegetable garden, which is also home to some interesting looking chickens. She donated some squash blossoms, herbs, zucchini, and flowers for the meal.

We heard a great performance by Chicago’s The Northside Southpaws.

Each course was expertly paired with delicious sweet and savory cocktails by the folks from North Shore Distillery. soo gooood!

  • Amuse: Caprese Lollipop
  • Summer Gazpacho, shrimp w/ prosciutto jackets
  • Squash Blossoms and greens, Saxon creamery cheese
  • Fettucini w/ zucchini and wild mushrooms
  • Grilled herbed Chicken, pole beans, potato terrine
  • Olive oil almond cake, grilled peaches, peach ice cream
